Overview
People in rural areas are vulnerable to the dangers of disconnection. Because they live in remote areas, it's harder for services to reach them. And it can be harder for them to contact someone when they need help.
The ReConnect Program helps expand high-speed Internet service to rural areas. It provides nearly $2 billion in loans and grants to help pay capital costs for infrastructure projects. This includes construction and improvements, as well as facilities and equipment.
